Money

As Holland is part of the European Union, the currency used in Holland is the "Euro"marked as "€".

 

Language

The language spoken in Holland is Dutch, although there are several dialects used. In Friesland "It Frysk" is considered a language of its own and is taught in the Grammar schools.
Most people in Holland however speak fluently English, while a lot of them can also make themselves clear in German or French.

 

Weather

Temperatures during the months of october and november are typically chilly, with temperatures between 0° and 10° centigrade. Also strong winds and rainshowers usually occur.

 

Traffic

In contrast to the Anglo-Saxon countries, trafic in Holland uses the right hand side of the road. Dutch cyclists, especially the younger ones, think they have a right to use the whole width of the road and often ride with three, or more, beside each other (although only two is officially allowed). Mopeds also are very popular with the younger generation.

 

Shopping

The centre of the city of Groningen is about a twenty minutes walk from the place of venue. The city harbours a great variety of shops in every line of life. Fashion, foods, music etc., etc.
